Accommodation at Anhui UniversityInternational students are required to stay in the international student dormitory during their first year to help them adapt to the new environment and ensure safety. After the first year, students have the option to choose either on-campus or off-campus accommodation. The international student dormitory is a modern 18-story apartment building, fully equipped with amenities such as a color TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, cable TV, and broadband internet. The dormitory offers only double rooms, each with a wardrobe, bathroom, and a small kitchen. Public kitchens and laundry rooms are available as well.
Double Room Fee: RMB 4,000 per year per person
Upon arrival, students need to show their passport, a photocopy of the passport, and the residence receipt from the financial office. A deposit of RMB 10 is required for the room key. Room changes are not allowed, and the deposit is refundable if no damage is done to the room during the stay.Public TransportationThe public transportation system includes buses, taxis, and a metro system (currently under construction). Most international students who live off-campus opt for bicycles as their main mode of transport. Traffic in China is on the right side of the road, and a valid Chinese driving license is required to drive cars or motorcycles. Foreign driving licenses are not accepted.Health InsuranceAll international students are covered by medical insurance. In case of hospitalization due to illness or serious accidents, the assigned teacher will assist in processing insurance claims for hospitalization costs. However, medical insurance does not cover outpatient treatment.
Passport, Visa, and Residence PermitForeigners residing in China must have a valid passport, visa, or residence permit. If you’re coming to study in China, you need to apply for an X visa. Those with an X visa must obtain a residence permit from the Hefei Public Security Bureau within 30 days of arrival. Failure to do so makes staying in China illegal. Before your passport, visa, or residence permit expires, make sure to renew them; otherwise, you will violate the law. Any breach of these rules could lead to penalties, detention for investigation, or deportation. The section that handles foreign affairs is the Exit-Entry Administration of the Public Security Bureau. Your assigned teacher will assist newcomers in completing all the required steps for the first time. In subsequent years, students must go there to renew their visas and residence permits. Remember to contact your teacher and schedule an appointment with the Exit-Entry Administration at least two weeks before your residence permit expires.SummaryAnhui University is one of the leading medical education institutions in China, and studying there is a remarkable academic journey. If you’re planning to study at Anhui University, you can reach out to the experts at Elm Vira Immigration Consulting for assistance with your application and other related matters.
