The earliest predecessor of Henan University was established in 1912 and was initially called the Henan Preparatory School for Study Abroad in Europe and America. In 1942, the school was upgraded to Henan National University. In 1952, after restructuring, it was renamed Henan Normal University and later changed to Kaifeng Normal College and Henan Normal University. In 1984, the school was renamed Henan University. In June 2000, the original Henan University merged with Kaifeng Medical College and Kaifeng Normal College to form the new Henan University.<\/p>\n

In 2022, the registered legal address of Henan University was changed from the city of Kaifeng to Zhengzhou. Since December 2023, Henan University has opened 92 undergraduate programs across its campuses in Zhengzhou Longzi, Kaifeng Minglong, and Jinming, covering an area of more than 5,500 hectares.<\/p>\n
